Abstract: Based on the problem that the electrochemical performance of the anode plate of the aluminum-air battery cannot be improved due to serious self-corrosion and anode passivation in the alkaline electrolyte, this study refined the grains of the aluminum anode plate by introducing TiC nanoparticles and increased the number of grain boundaries to increase its electrochemical activity. In the experiment, Mg was used to improve the wettability of TiC and aluminum matrix, and the aluminum anode plate with nano-TiC content of 0.3 wt.% was prepared by vacuum induction melting furnace. The results show that the average grain size of Al-Mg-TiC is reduced from 2.871 mm to 0.831 mm, the electrochemical properties including working voltage and anode utilization are improved, and self-corrosion is obvious. Inhibition, the number of discharge sites increases and the distribution is more uniform compared with pure Al and Al-Mg.
