Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the preparation of shell and core type carbon coated manganese and its alloy oxide nanocomposite particles, firstly, using automatic control DC arc metal nanopowder production equipment, adding appropriate amount of manganese metal or manganese alloy raw materials, evaporating lumpy manganese metal or manganese alloy raw materials in a certain ratio of inert gas and carbon containing gas mixture atmosphere to obtain carbon coated manganese or carbon coated manganese alloy nanocomposite particle precursors . Then the precursors are heated and oxidized in the reaction atmosphere to obtain carbon-coated manganese oxide or carbon-coated manganese alloy oxide nanocomposite particles. The nanocomposite particles prepared by this method have a shell-nucleus structure with graphitic carbon as the shell and manganese and manganese alloy oxides as the nucleus, and have both double-layer capacitance and pseudocapacitance, which greatly improve the capacity of supercapacitor electrodes.
