Abstract: The present invention relates to a three-step preparation method and application of carbon-coated zinc diphosphide composites, which belongs to the field of lithium-ion battery technology. The purpose is to solve the problems of low yield of zinc diphosphide and poor cycling performance as anode material for lithium-ion batteries. The preparation method is as follows: firstly, based on the DC arc plasma method, zinc blocks are evaporated into zinc nanopowder; then zinc diphosphide powder is synthesized by high-temperature solid-phase reaction method using zinc nanopowder and phosphorus; finally, the carbon-coated zinc diphosphide composite is prepared by mechanical ball milling method. This method has low synthesis temperature, short cycle time, low cost and high yield. The reversible cycle specific capacity of the lithium-ion battery prepared by the composite material of this invention is 629 mAh/g after 200 cycles at 200 mA/g current density.
