Introduction: Electrochemically active metal phosphide anode materials were prepared by direct current arc plasma evaporation and heat treatment, and their electrochemical carbohydrate storage properties were explored by modulating the crystal configuration or carbon coating morphology of the materials. The potassium storage properties were investigated by means of experimental characterization. The mechanism of potassium storage in metal phosphides was investigated by first-principle calculations to reveal the essential characteristics of potassium storage in metal phosphides from the microscopic level.
