Huang Hao, Professor and PhD director of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Dalian University of Technology, director of the laboratory, head of Dalian Huanghai Laboratory, leader of Dalian innovation team. He has long been devoted to the research of basic science and application technology of nano energy storage materials, bringing new breakthroughs to the bottleneck problems related to the field of new energy materials. He has independently designed and manufactured the arc plasma nano-powder mass production equipment, mastered the complete independent and controllable technology, realized the macroscopic manufacturing of multiple types of nano-particles, elucidated the growth mechanism of nano-particles in the plasma environment, and solved the key technical problems in the low-cost, large-scale and structure-controlled growth of this type of material. The use of plasma physical methods, combined with chemically controlled modifications to complete the design and fabrication of complex structured nanoelectrodes, provides a solution for efficient energy storage and long service life of active materials. The effective combination of first principles calculations and experiments to investigate the correlation between nanoparticle defects/surface structure properties and electrochemical reactions provides accurate scientific basis and effective data information for the efficient design and screening of new materials for electrodes.

He has undertaken and participated in more than ten national and provincial research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National 973 Project, and the 13th Five-Year National Key R&D Program. He has published three books, including the editor-in-chief of Key Materials for High Performance Batteries (Science Press, National Key Publication of the 13th Five-Year Plan). He has published 166 academic papers in high-level academic journals at home and abroad, including 113 SCI-indexed papers with 4,292 SCI citations. He has applied for 36 domestic patents, 17 of which have been granted, and has promoted nano-electrode materials and nano-material mass production technologies in Dalian, Anshan and Tieling in Liaoning Province, promoted 3 pilot tests of electrode materials and several nano-material production lines, established a testing and evaluation centre for new energy power batteries, and promoted the development of new energy in Liaoning Province.
