Introduction: During the school years, he was mainly engaged in the development and characterization of oxygen reduction electrocatalysts for proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Fuel cell is an energy conversion device with high energy conversion efficiency and non-polluting emission, which can be applied in portable power, transportation, aerospace and many other fields. However, its cathode ORR kinetics is very slow, and expensive Pt-based catalysts are needed to promote ORR, which makes its large-scale development application hindered. Studies have shown that transition metal and nitrogen co-doped carbon materials exhibit excellent ORR electrocatalytic performance, among which iron-based catalytic activity is the highest and has a large potential for development. Based on the above, a series of iron and nitrogen co-doped carbon-based catalysts were prepared during school using cheap and harmless raw materials such as iron salts, iron oxides and melamine, and their compositional structure, microscopic morphology and ORR electrocatalytic performance were characterized, and the effects of different precursor ratios, different pyrolysis temperatures and different iron sources on the structure and ORR performance of the synthesized catalysts were investigated.
