Presentation: (1) High-performance Co-N-C cathode oxygen reduction catalysts were prepared using a simple one-step pyrolysis method at a lower cost, with better performance than commercial 20% Pt/C catalysts. (2) The effects of pyrolysis temperature and Co content on the morphological structure and electrochemical performance of the catalysts were investigated, and the highest performance was achieved at 800 °C and a 1:10 ratio of cobalt tetrahydrate acetate to melamine, with a half-wave potential of 0.86 V. (3) Zinc-air cells were assembled using the prepared Co-N-C oxygen reduction catalysts, with high open-circuit voltage and power density
